Space Jamboree and updates

August 2nd – Space Jamboree. Cost $10 for food. Be at the parking lot across from the Admin Building at 9:45 am. We will leave at 10 a.m. sharp. We are asking that the boys only pack an overnight bag because we are not taking the trailer. Everything we will need for the weekend needs to fit in the back of my mini-van (without seats).

Eagle Scout Association Merit Badge Make Up day is August 3 at Beaumont. Scouts must come to the event with their partial cards from Summer Camp. If your Scout needs their partial card, please contact me and I will put them in my mailbox for you to be picked up. I can’t email them because they are not individual cards. This make-up day is only for partials, not new merit badges.

The first meeting is Thursday, August 15th. We will start promptly at 7 pm with flags. Arrive at 6:45 to help with set-up. The meeting will start with elections. Scouts need to also bring their books so they can be signed off on for any Scoutmaster Conferences / Board of Reviews.

August 15 is the last day to submit any completed merit badge card to be presented at the September 5th Court of Honor. Any cards submitted after August 15 will be presented at the December Court of Honor.

At this point, our activities for August – December have been set. The boys have asked to do the Climbing Merit Badge. I am looking to schedule it on a Saturday or Sunday in November or December. There are other activities that the boys discussed that will be scheduled for April, May, June time frame. We need to add Troop Camping beyond the OA and Spring Camporee.
